Genesee & Wyoming Inc, a UK-based operator of short line and regional railroads has agreed to acquire a 95% stake in Freightliner Group, a UK-based haulier of maritime containers from Arcapita Ventures, a Bahrain-based private equity firm. The consideration will be Stg498.5m ($767.69m) consisting of a cash portion of Stg490m and an assumption of net debt and capitalized leases amounting to Stg8.5m.
