BRF Brasil Foods', the Brazilian NYSE listed food company, joint venture with Singapore Food Industries (part of SATS, the Singapore listed leading provider of gateway services and food solutions in Asia) and the related acquisition of 49% of the shares of a new company to be formed by Singapore Food Industries. The joint venture involves the transfer to the new entity of SFI’s food processing and distribution business and a license agreement for the use of certain brands and trademarks in Singapore. BRF will contribute its fully integrated supply, go-to-market operations, product development and global branding capabilities.
