Nanning Sugar Industry completed the acquisition of Chinese cane sugar business from Associated British Foods.

Nanning Sugar Industry, that manufactures and markets sugar products, completed the acquisition of cane sugar business in China from Associated British Foods, a British multinational food processing and retailing company. Financial terms were not disclosed. Following the sale, AB Sugar will have operations in Britain, Spain, southern Africa as well as beet sugar operations in northern China, with an annual processing capacity of some 4.4m tonnes of sugar and 600m litres of ethanol. ABF will have about 4,500 staff in China.
