Synopsis

Edit

Suzano Papel e Celulose, a Brazilian company of pulp and paper, acquired Fibria Celulose, a Brazilian pulp and paper company, from Votorantim Group, one of the largest industrial conglomerates in Latin America, for $11bn. The deal strengthens the Brazilians’ pricing power after years of surging capacity, when pulpmakers in one of the world’s highest-yielding eucalyptus regions fought for market share with competing expansion plans.
