The Carlyle Group acquired a 68% stake in Codorníu for €265m.

Synopsis

The Carlyle Group has completed the acquisition of c. 68% of the shares in Unideco, the parent company of Codorníu, the oldest family-owned cava-producer in Spain. The transaction, which was announced by the company on 28 June, 2018, has completed after receiving the required regulatory approvals. Alex Wagenberg, Managing Director, Carlyle Europe Partners, says, "Codorníu Raventós is an exceptional company, poised for global leadership in the cava and wine industry.
