Announced
Synopsis
Ramsay Generale, 50.9 percent owned by Australia’s Ramsay Health Care, acquired Capio, which runs clinics and hospitals in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, France and Germany, for 58 Swedish crowns per Capio share. An initial bid of 48.50 crowns had been quickly rebuffed by Capio’s board and several of its largest investors. Ramsay said that the acquisition would bolster its core earnings per share in two to three years and that Ramsay Générale expected pre-tax synergies of about 20 million euros, the majority of which will be over the same period.
