Synopsis

Edit

Amcor, world’s biggest listed packaging company, completed the acquisition of Bemis, a global manufacturer of flexible packaging products, for $6.8bn. The transaction was effected at a fixed exchange ratio of 5.1 Amcor shares for each Bemis share, resulting in Amcor and Bemis shareholders owning approximately 71% and 29% of the combined company, respectively. This represents a premium of 25% to Bemis’ closing price of $46.31 per share as of August 2, 2018. “The acquisition of Bemis brings additional scale, capabilities and footprint that will strengthen Amcor’s industry leading value proposition and generate significant value for shareholders,” Ron Delia, Amcor Chief Executive Officer.
