Europ Assistance, the first company to provide medical coverage for people traveling overseas, announced that it had acquired from Arthur J. Gallagher a 100% stake of Trip Mate, a managing general agent leader in the tour operator travel insurance market in the United States. Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction cements the presence of Europ Assistance, which operates in the United States through its subsidiary Generali Global Assistance, among the top three travel insurance providers in the United States, furthering the Group’s position as a leading global travel insurer. Generali Global Assistance also provides corporate solutions in the travel sphere in addition to senior care and cyber security services.
