Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, a Japanese bank holding company, and Akamai Technologies, an American content delivery network and cloud service provider headquartered in Cambridge, formed Global Open Network to provide a blockchain technology-based online payment network for Japan. Financial terms were not disclosed.
