Cellnex completed the acquisition of France and Italian Iliad Towers for €2bn.

Cellnex, an operator of wireless telecommunications infrastructures, completed the acquisition of Iliad's passive mobile telecom infrastructure in France and Italy for €2bn. Cellnex will pay €1.4bn for a 70% stake in France Towers and €600m for 100% of the 2.2k Iliad sites in Italy. “This transaction is part of a long- term industrial strategy allowing us to accelerate rollout of our 4G and 5G networks and to increase Iliad’s investment leeway. This transaction supports the Group’s new growth and innovation cycle. It enables more efficient infrastructure roll-outs in the future while meeting the challenges of further increasing territory coverage," Thomas Reynaud, Iliad Chief Executive Officer.
