Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof to acquire a 25.1% stake in Karstadt Feinkost from REWE Group.

Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof, a German department store chain, agreed to acquire a 25.1% stake in Karstadt Feinkost, canned foods and dry goods retailer, from REWE Group. Financial terms were not disclosed. "This restructuring is in the interest of both companies and gives the food retail business of Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof new development opportunities that will continue to receive positive impulses not least thanks to the REWE Group's expertise in goods," Telerik Schischmanow, REWE Group Vice President Trade Germany.
