Aqua Pennsylvania Wastewater, a subsidiary of Aqua America acquires Municipal Wastewater System, Delaware municipal authority’s wastewater assets from Delaware County Regional Water Quality Control Authority (DELCORA) for $276.5m. The pending transaction is subject to Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission approval. Following closing, Aqua will hire all 136 current DELCORA employees, honor all DELCORA union contracts, and offer expanded professional opportunities in water and wastewater to these employees. “We are proud to announce that DELCORA will become the largest municipal transaction in our 133-year company history.
