OWTU wins bid for Guaracara Refining for $700m.

Oilfield Workers Trade Union, one of the most powerful trade unions in Trinidad and Tobago through its subsidiary Patroitic wins the bid for Guaracara Refining, an oil refinery in Pointe-a-Pierre area, from the Government of Trinidad and Tobago with a $700m offer. Patriotic was given one month to present to the evaluation committee a “satisfactory and comprehensive work plan” on how it intends to complete the process. The evaluation committee will submit the findings to the Cabinet within six weeks.
