Salzburg owners' cooperatives completed the acquisition of SalzburgMilch from MEGGLE.

Synopsis

Kaesehof, Tauernmilch Bischofshofen and Milchhof Salzburg, dairy cooperatives, completed the acquisition of SalzburgMilch, the largest dairy in Salzburg and the third largest in Austria, from MEGGLE, a milk and whey processing company. Financial terms were not disclosed. "When MEGGLE acquired its stake in SalzburgMilch in 1999, it was our first shareholding outside Germany and very close to our proprietor Toni Meggle's heart, since he has strong ties to Salzburg. The company's strategic realignment and renewed focus on our key competencies and key markets mean we have decided to transfer our shares to our long-standing partners in accordance with our contract," Matthias Oettel, MEGGLE Board Member for Consumer Products.
