Venture capital firm Sapphire Ventures and Visa, a global payments technology company working to enable consumers, businesses, banks, and governments to use digital currency, a $80m Series E funding round in Currencycloud, a start-up that sells payment software for banks and fintech firms to process their international transactions. Additional investors include International Finance Corporation, BNP Paribas, SBI Group, Siam Commercial Bank, Notion Capital, GV, Accomplice, and Anthemis. "Currencycloud is re-imagining how money flows around the global economy and embedding it into platforms of the future. Transfer of value is fast becoming the newest layer in the modern technology stack, and Currencycloud is positioned to provide the infrastructure to make this happen.
