TA Associates, a private equity firm, completed the acquisition of AffiniPay, a full-service merchant account and online payment gateway provider, from Great Hill Partners, a growth equity firm. Financial terms were not disclosed. Payments companies, which typically process transactions between merchants and customers, have emerged as one of the hottest sectors in financial technology.
