NTPC to acquire THDC and NEEPCO for $1.5bn.

Synopsis

NTPC, a power generation company, has agreed to acquire hydro-electricity generation firms THDC and NEEPCO for $1.5bn. NTPC would be acquiring a 74.49% stake in THDC for $996m and a 100% stake in Neepco for $531m respectively. Post-acquisition, THDCIL and NEEPCO will become subsidiaries of NTPC.
