Schwarz Gruppe, a major retail group that owns Lidl and Kaufland, agreed to acquire real.de, one of the largest online marketplaces in Germany, from SCP Group, an investment firm targeting scalable asset-heavy opportunities. Financial terms were not disclosed. "Real.de is an essential component of our future offering. The combination of brick-and-mortar business and online trading will open up additional opportunities for us. This will also offer new advantages for our customers," Rolf Schumann, Schwarz Group Chief Digitalization Officer.
