Liberty Broadband, an Internet service provider company, completed the merger with GCI Liberty, the largest Alaska-based communications provider, in an $8.7bn deal. “We are pleased to have closed Liberty Broadband’s acquisition of GCI Liberty. This process was driven by independent special committees of each company, and we are confident that the transaction will unlock value and benefit the shareholders of both companies,” Greg Maffei, Liberty Broadband and GCI Liberty President and CEO.
