AMP, an investment advisor, completed the acquisition of a 15% stake in AMP Capital, a large global investment manager, from Mitsubishi UFJ, a global financial group, for $329m. MUFG is proceeding with the optimization of capital management in the face of tightened international financial regulations and changes in the business environment. In that context, MUFG is conducting a review of existing strategic investments by MUFG group companies from perspectives including strategy, capital efficiency, and return on investment.
