Baring Private Equity Asia, one of the largest private alternative investment firms in Asia, led a consortium which completed a $211m investment in RBL Bank, an Indian private sector bank headquartered in Mumbai. Other investors included ICICI Prudential Life Insurance and Gaja Capital. The company raised the capital to help strengthen its balance sheet after it was hit with a 50% fall in June quarter profit due to provisions on doubtful loans doubled.
