Synopsis

Edit

Sun Communities, a real estate investment trust, agreed to acquire Safe Harbor Marinas, the largest owner and operator of marinas in the world, from a consortium of investors for c. $2.1bn. "Safe Harbor’s scale and unique positioning, coupled with the fragmented marina industry, should provide us with incremental channels to drive shareholder value in the coming years. This transaction increases our geographic and customer diversity and introduces a new platform that can enhance our ability to generate industry leading returns," Gary A. Shiffman, Sun Chairman and CEO.
