Hitachi High-Tech completed the acquisition of VLC Photonics.

Hitachi High-Technologies, a trading company handling a variety of products such as computers and peripherals, completed the acquisition of VLC Photonics, which is focused on the design and characterization of photonic integrated circuits for multiple applications. Financial terms were not disclosed. The new expertise will complement Hitachi High-Tech’s current provision of components and services to the optical communications industry. Thus, the addition of VLC Photonics will better position Hitachi High-Tech to serve the new requirements of present customers as well as providing a foundation for the development of new offerings.
