Media Markt to acquire 17 stores from Worten Group.

Media Markt, a holding company that offers a wide range of electronic products such as computers, phones, cameras, and navigation, agreed to acquire 17 stores from Worten Group, a retailer of household appliances. Financial terms were not disclosed. “In the current context of transformation in the sector, accelerated by the current pandemic crisis, we decided to make structural changes, to guarantee positive operating results in Spain in 2021. This change it does not affect the continuity or independence of our business in this geography, where, from now on, we will focus on serving customers in the most efficient way, through online and physical stores that best adapt to our omnichannel model in Spain," José Vieira de Almeida, Worten Country Manager.
