GEDI, a multimedia company, agreed to acquire an 80% stake in alfemminile, an operator of a digital information platform, from TF1 Group, a privately-owned television in France. Financial terms were not disclosed. “With this acquisition, GEDI provides its female readers with an even richer and more complete range of information, contributing to their empowerment thanks to a top of mind for women on the Italian digital scene, which lives through a very active and lively community especially in the social network e on its “historical” forum. With alfemminile GEDI becomes the first Italian digital hub after Google and Facebook in terms of female audience: a significant step forward in the strategic development path that will continue at full speed in the months to come," Maurizio Scanavino, GEDI CEO.
