WEC Energy Group and Invenergy to acquire Jayhawk Wind Farm from Apex Clean Energy.

WEC Energy Group, an electric and natural gas delivery firm, and Invenergy, an operator of renewable energy generation projects, agreed to acquire Jayhawk Wind Farm, to be built in Bourbon and Crawford counties, Kansas, from Apex Clean Energy, a clean energy company for $302m. The transaction is subject to receiving all necessary regulatory approvals. The project is expected to be operational by the end of 2021, and energy from the project will be sold to an affiliate of Facebook. "Our commitment to the Jayhawk project is the next step forward in our comprehensive plan to build a bright, sustainable future, serve strong vibrant customers and continue to grow earnings from our portfolio of renewable energy assets," Gale Klappa, WEC Energy Group Executive Chairman.
