Firmo to acquire Staples Portugal.

Firmo, a manufacturer of school, stationery and office products, agreed to acquire Staples Portugal, a distributor of office and school needs, with a national network of 34 stores. Financial terms were not disclosed. "With this transaction, two companies and brands of choice will work together to be at the top of the customers' mind and, online or in person, will continue to meet their needs with the most innovative products and services. Additionally, the combination of Firmo's manufacturing capabilities and the strength of the Staples brand will provide both organizations with the necessary means in a sector where innovation will be a determining factor for success," Rui Santos Carvalho, Firmo CEO.
