Global Payments to acquire Bankia's pre-paid card and payment processing businesses from Caixabank for $333m.

Global Payments, a provider of payment technology and software solutions, agreed to acquire Bankia's pre-paid card and payment processing businesses, from Caixabank, a multinational financial services company, for $333m. Bankia is a Spanish financial services company that was formed in December 2010, consolidating the operations of seven regional savings banks, and was partially nationalized by the government of Spain in May 2012 due to the near collapse of the institution.
