Enel completed the acquisition of ERG Hydro from ERG for €1bn.

Enel, an Italian multinational manufacturer and distributor of electricity and gas, completed the acquisition of ERG Hydro, a portfolio of 527 MW hydro plants, from ERG, an Italian energy company, for €1bn. The transaction is expected to be completed at the beginning of 2022. “By acquiring these strategic assets we are consolidating our role as a leader in the energy transition in Italy, and we are taking an important step towards the achievement of the Group’s decarbonization targets,” Salvatore Bernabei, Enel Green Power CEO and Head of Global Power Generation.
