Telenor, a Norwegian majority state-owned multinational telecommunications company, agreed to form a joint venture with Charoen Pokphand, a Thai conglomerate, in a $8.6bn deal. “The telecom and technology sectors are key to enabling Thailand to move up the development curve and to create broad-based prosperity.
