Synopsis

Edit

IDI, a listed investment company in France, and Chevrillon, a family ownership company with that invests in industrial and service companies, agreed to acquire Culturespaces, a French specialist in the full scale management of cultural venues, from Engie, a French multinational utility company. Financial terms were not disclosed. "We are delighted with the trust that Bruno Monnier and the Culturespaces teams have placed in us. This investment illustrates two important themes of the IDI’s investment strategy. The first concerns group spin-offs: through our profile as a listed investment company, working on equity and with a long-term track record, we are able to reassure large groups such as Engie and their employees about our ability to take up the torch by ensuring the continuity and development in the continuity of the subsidiary subject of the spin-off. The second theme concerns investments with a strong component linked to digital transformation: for example, among our investments this year, Dubbing Brothers (film and series dubbing) and Ekosport (e-commerce) illustrate this theme well. Culturespaces’ immersive digital centers, such as the Atelier des Lumières in Paris, are revolutionizing the experience of exhibitions and promoting access for a much wider audience to the art of great painters," Marco de Alfaro, IDI Partner.
