Synopsis

Microsoft, an American multinational technology corporation, completed the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, an American video game holding company based in Santa Monica, for $68.7bn. “Today we start the work to bring beloved Activision, Blizzard, and King franchises to Game Pass and other platforms. We’ll share more about when you can expect to play in the coming months,” Phil Spencer, Microsoft Gaming CEO. On February 1, 2022, The US antitrust review of the deal will be handled by Federal Trade Commision. On March 9, 2022, US Federal prosecutors and securities regulators are investigating bets that Barry Diller, Alexander von Furstenberg and David Geffen made on Activision Blizzard days before the deal.. On September 1, 2022, Microsoft’s $68.7bn Activision deal faces in-depth UK probe. On September 15, 2022, UK watchdog wants deeper probe into Microsoft's $69-bln Activision deal.
