Cummins, an American multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, and distributes engines, filtration, and power generation products, agreed to acquire Jacobs Vehicle Systems, an American company that engineers, develops and manufacturers commercial vehicle retarding and valve actuation technologies, from Altra Industrial Motion, a global designer and manufacturer of a wide range of motion control and power transmission solutions, for $325m. "Today’s announcement is fully aligned with our strategy to focus Altra’s portfolio on highly engineered products in the motion control and power transmission markets," Carl Christenson, Altra Chairman and CEO.
