Synopsis
InfraVia Capital Partners, a private equity firm, completed the acquisition of 50% stake in Polski Światłowód Otwarty, a wholesale operator of an open broadband network, from Play, a mobile operator, for $690m. "Play's cooperation with InfraVia will accelerate the development of the largest open fiber-optic network in Poland. Our significant investments in fiber-optic infrastructure will enable millions of Polish customers to use super-fast internet, which is essential in everyone's daily life. The decision to offer open access to infrastructure is in line with Play's mission to ensure freedom of choice for all customers, and this breakthrough approach will accelerate Poland's digitization," Jean Marc Harion, CEO of the Play.
