Kaja Food to acquire Florentin from PepsiCo-Strauss.

Kaja Food, a company focused on healthy and functional eating, agreed to acquire Florentin, a Dutch manufacturer of organic houmous, falafel, pita bread, dips and other Middle Eastern goods, from PepsiCo-Strauss, a venture jointly owned by Pepsi and Strauss Group. Financial terms were not disclosed. “We can confirm that Obela shareholders have decided to wind down operations in Europe at the end of the month … focusing investments in growth markets, which today include Mexico, Australia and New Zealand. The Florentin business will be sold to give it the attention that it deserves to grow and flourish,” Christian Exner Arizaga, Obela Director of marketing and business development Europe.
