Synopsis
Glencore, a Swiss multinational commodity trading and mining company, failed to acquire Teck Resources, a diversified natural resources company headquartered in Vancouver, for $23.2bn. On April 3, Copper and Teck Resources rejected an unsolicited $22.5 billion bid from Glencore. The offer was ultimately replaced with a deal for Teck's steelmaking coal unit.
