Marubeni to invest in KitchenTown.

Marubeni, a Japanese conglomerate, agreed to invest in KitchenTown, an incubation service provider for food startups and food manufacturers in the food tech industry. Financial terms were not disclosed. Through this agreement, Marubeni will support the growth of KitchenTown’s incubation services and support startups and companies in the food industry, with an emphasis on those in Japan and Asia, to enter the U.S. market. This can be considered the first time that a Japanese company has entered into an investment agreement with a major U.S. food tech incubator to provide business support and assistance for overseas expansion to food tech and related companies in Japan and Asia.
