KDDI to acquire the Toronto data centre portfolio from Allied Properties REIT for $1bn.

Synopsis

KDDI, a Japanese telecommunications operator, agreed to acquire the Toronto data centre portfolio from Allied Properties REIT, an owner and developer of urban office space, for $1bn. “With global data-centre operating capability, KDDI is an ideal successor owner-operator for our UDC portfolio. We’ll work closely with KDDI over the next 18 months to transition local expertise in relation to the portfolio. We’ll also work collaboratively with KDDI as the site for Union Centre continues to evolve toward the large-scale development of urban workspace in the coming decade,” ,” Michael Emory, Allied Founder and Executive Chair.
