Naza to acquire the waste management business of Berjaya Corporation for $155m.

Naza, a group of Bumiputera business conglomerates, operating in automotive, property, construction, and manufacturing, agreed to acquire the waste management business of Berjaya Corporation, a Malaysian-based corporation which controls a wide array of businesses, including consumer marketing, property development and investment, as well as hotels, resorts and recreation development, for $155m. "Naza Group has been exploring new sectors that align with its vision of sustainable development, resource efficiency, and upholding the highest standards of environmental stewardship. Waste management, a crucial aspect of the Green Economy, which is expected to see a sizable growth, perfectly aligns with our vision," Nasarudin Nasimuddin, Naza Executive Chairman.
