Transocean, an American drilling company, agreed to acquire the remaining stake in Liquila Ventures, a joint venture to acquire the ultra-deepwater drillship formerly known as West Aquila, from Lime Rock Partners, a private equity investment partner, and Perestroika, an investment company, for $82m. Following this acquisition, Transocean will own and operate eight of the twelve ultra-deepwater, 1,400 short-ton hookload drillships in the world.
