Great Eastern to acquire AmMetLife Insurance and AmMetLife Takaful from MetLife International and AMAB Holdings for RM1,121m.

Synopsis

Great Eastern, a financial service provider, agreed to acquire AmMetLife Insurance and AmMetLife Takaful, two insurance companies from MetLife International, an insurance company, and AMAB Holdings, AMMB subsidiary, for MYR 1,121m. “We look forward to partner with AmBank Berhad and AmBank Islamic Berhad to offer our insurance and takaful solutions to the bank’s three million customers. This opportunity will provide both GELM and GETB with an expanded distribution network to serve the Malaysian residents, and further reinforce our commitment in the insurance and family takaful industry in Malaysia,” Khor Hock Seng, Great Eastern Group CEO.
