Actis-backed Niagara Energy, a heavy manufacturer serving the nuclear markets, oil and gas, and general heavy fabrication, agreed to acquire a stake in the Peruvian generation assets of Enel, an Italian multinational manufacturer, for $1.4bn. The transaction is in line with the Enel’s strategic priorities, which envisage the repositioning of Enel on countries where the group has higher growth potential as well as an integrated presence, namely Italy, Spain, the United States, Brazil, Chile and Colombia.
