Miriam Adelson and Sivan and Patrick Dumont, a family that runs the Las Vegas Sands casino company, agreed to acquire a majority stake in Dallas Mavericks, a professional basketball team that plays in the National Basketball Association, from Mark Cuban, an American billionaire businessman, film producer, investor, and television personality, for $3.5bn. “The state of Texas has always been friendly to our family, and we look forward to being able to repay that kindness.
