Homeland Bankshares completed the acquisition of Peoples Bank of Chatham.

Homeland Bankshares, a local community bank, completed the acquisition of Peoples Bank of Chatham, a community bank headquartered in Chatham, Louisiana. Financial terms were not disclosed. "We will continue to operate as an independent bank for the foreseeable future. Our name will not change. Our current board of directors will remain in place as well as our executive team and other employees. Our board of directors firmly believes that this acquisition will allow Peoples Bank to maintain a strong capital position while being able to lean on a much larger organization to provide improved banking products and services for our customers," Mitch Spillers, Peoples Bank President and CEO.
