Mediahuis completed the acquisition of the remaining 30% stake in Medienhaus Aachen from Rheinische Post Mediengruppe.

Mediahuis, a European multinational newspaper and magazine publishing, distribution, printing, television, radio and online media company, completed the acquisition of the remaining 30% stake in Medienhaus Aachen, a media group, from Rheinische Post Mediengruppe, a book and periodical publishing company. Financial terms were not disclosed. “Already several decades ago Rheinische Post Mediengruppe has become active in the Aachen region through its newspaper Aachener Nachrichten, the first newly licensed newspaper in Germany. As a consequence of the merger with Aachener Zeitung in 1975, our group has held a significant minority shareholder position in the merged company,” Johannes Werle, Rheinische Post Mediengruppe CEO.
