Synopsis
KDDI, a Japanese telecommunications operator, agreed to acquire a 50% stake in Lawson, a convenience store franchise chain, for $3.3bn. KDDI, which has expanded into banking, insurance and entertainment, said it plans to offer its communication, financial and other services at Lawson stores.
