Trafigura, a multinational commodity trading company, agreed to acquire Greenergy, a waste-based renewables and transportation fuels supplier, from Brookfield, an investment management company. Financial terms were not disclosed. “Trafigura brings additional understanding of global supply chains and energy markets and a track record of investing in renewables. This will further enhance our offer to customers through the energy transition and beyond,” Christian Flach, Greenergy CEO. On May 8, 2024, the agreement was expanded by including Greenergy’s Canadian supply operations.
