Republic Services, a North American waste disposal company, completed the acquisition of a minority stake in RSI Environment, a contaminated soils and residual hazardous materials treatment and recycling firm. Financial terms were not disclosed. "We wanted to somehow consolidate this partnership agreement by making them minority shareholders. So I think that for the RSI company, it's a bit of the best of both worlds. So we affiliate with a company that is large like that. Well, they can somehow overcome the problem of competition, knowing that I am a small player in the market for hazardous materials and contaminated soils," Jean-François Landry, RSI President, CEO and Co-Owner.
