Rogers to acquire a 37.5% stake in MLSE from Bell for $3.5bn.

Synopsis

Rogers, a communications and entertainment company, agreed to acquire a 37.5% stake in Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, a professional sports and commercial real estate company, from Bell, a Canadian telecommunications company, for $3.5bn. “MLSE is one of the most prestigious sports and entertainment organizations in the world and we’re proud to expand our ownership of these coveted sports teams. As Canada’s leading communications and entertainment company, live sports and entertainment are a critical part of our core business strategy,” Tony Staffieri, Rogers President and CEO.
