Private equity investors Lightspeed Venture Partners, a global multi-stage venture capital firm that invests in companies across various sectors including enterprise, consumer, health, and fintech, and SoftBank Vision Fund 2, a investing in AI-driven, late-stage technology companies, led a $425m Series F round in Helion Energy, a fusion energy company focused on generating zero-carbon electricity from fusion, with participation from Sam Altman, Mithril Capital, Capricorn Investment Group, Dustin Moskovitz, and Nucor. “Fusion has the potential to be a truly transformational technology for industry and society and we see Helion as leading the race to bring that technology to market,” Ravi Mhatre, Lightspeed Venture Partners Managing Partner and co-founder.
